Welcome to the blog of Arie van Deursen.

I am a professor in software engineering and head of the Department of Software Technology at Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands. I hold a PhD from the University of Amsterdam (1994), and an MSc degree from the Vrije Universiteit (1990).

My research interests include software testing, trustworthy AI, language models for software engineering, and human aspects of software engineering.

In my research, I seek close collaboration with industry and societal partners, in the tech, financial, and government sectors. I am also co-founder of the spin-off companies The Software Improvement Group (2000) and Infotron (2013). I am a member of the Advisory Council for IT Assessments (AcICT) of the Dutch Government.
